American Futharch

Ever wanted to write exactly like an ancient runemaster? That hasn’t been truly possible, until now.

For the ancient runemasters, writing in runes mean the following three-step process:

  1. Select the word to write.
  2. Identify the individual sounds that make up the word.
  3. Carve in order the individual runes that correspond directly to those individual sounds.

The emphasis is on sound. There’s no letters involved. And they did this in their native language (Proto-Germanic for those first runemasters), not a dead language they learned from a book. And now with the new American Futharch, you can follow this three-step process to write your American English exactly like an ancient runemaster—for the first time in centuries!

So what is this American Futharch? It’s a revolutionary new rune row for modern American English, which follows in the proud traditions of the Elder Futhark and the Anglo-Saxon Futhorc. It restores the runes to the primordial condition of “one sound, one stave” in order to re-forge the living-language link that the ancient runemasters enjoyed. And that’s the critical piece of the tradition that the modern runic revival has been missing—until now. These are runes that speak your language!

This is only the beginning. These runes aren’t just for writing. They’re for magic, divination, esotericism, poetry, and more. These are runes with which to Do All The Things!
